Dangers of AI
Not too long ago a friend sent my wife some AI generated photos of our children. While they probably had the best intentions and didn't mean anything from it, that really raised not only concerns but also fear.
Since then, my wife and I went through all our social media accounts and deleted all photos that had our children in them, mostly the ones that clearly show their faces. It was easier for me as I just deleted my old Facebook and Instagram accounts and started fresh.
Since our friends were able to use photos of our kids to alter them with AI into something that was actually harmless, the thing that scares me the most is how easy, if not easier, for someone to use photos from anywhere and generate content that would be harmful or even illegal.
I was wondering how easy it would actually be, so I used a few photos of myself and tested prompts with various AI platforms and I was easily able to literally make any photo into ANYTHING I wanted almost instantly.
What's even more concerning is that many of the most well known platforms are anoymous and private, meaning they don't share or keep track of user data and how they are using the platforms.
