This is probably my last post for the year and I guess I could list some of the highlights for 2025:

 

•Finally laid my parent's ashes to rest in my home state of Maryland. It was good to see some familiar sights and visit some family members during the trip.

•Attended a family reunion in St. Louis for my wife's mom's side of the family. That was pretty fun to actually meet some of the relatives outside of social media.

•I've decided to reinstate my membership with the Knights of Columbus after being out for about 5 years. I left my last council on bad terms on both sides, but I am hoping that this fresh start and not taking on such a big role as before (Financial Secretery) will help.

 

I am hoping that 2026 will be better in some areas of my life. A few resolutions that I came up with that I think will help are:

 

•No yelling, especially at my kids when they misbehave. That will be a tough one.

•Cut back on the sugary foods and the gluten. I do have a gluten sensitivity and I think it's starting to catch up with me now.

•Try to watch my mouth. I do tend to make some comments in the moment with the intention of trying to be funny, but that has gotten me in more trouble than not.

•To learn and take my faith more seriously, instead of just "going through the motions".

•Be more brutally honest and straight forward with my kids instead of sugar coating things, and play with my words. My father honest like that no matter the subject or situation and I do have a lot of respect for him for that.

What's a better way to blow off steam from a rough day than to rebuild my entire site?

I decided to try out the dark blue background working with a few new fonts and a text based logo instead of an image.

Now the hard part is to move all the previous posts from the old layout into the new, but I may just start the whole thing over as some of the posts were just stupid and really for testing something new.
